Plastic Card Services (PCS), the UK’s leading plastic card manufacturer, is celebrating five years of providing high quality plastic cards for the UK’s fastest growing union, USDAW.
As the UK’s leading plastic card manufacturer, Plastic Card Services (PCS) has been producing and mailing to USDAW’s 413,000 members across the retail and distribution sectors, for the past five years. Recruiting around 1500-1600 new members every week, USDAW is bucking the trend of falling union membership and has seen positive membership growth for a number of years.
Mike Glover, head of communications at USDAW said: “We have been mailing cards to members for around 20 years, and used to supply pre-printed cards to a mailing house for embossing and distribution. However, there were intermittent issues over supplies and deadlines and we generally weren’t getting the high quality of service we expect.
“As a result we looked for a card manufacturer that could complete the whole process for us in-house, from designing and printing the cards, to producing the mail-outs in-house. Plastic Card Services continues to impress us with its high-level of proactive customer service, and what’s more, it delivers excellent quality cards that are competitively priced.”
Since it was established in 1993, PCS has been committed to investing in new technology and innovation to increase the efficiency of its processes and quality of product. This continual investment enables PCS to process the high volumes of new USDAW member data in a short time frame and on a weekly basis –receiving the information on Monday and ensuring all cards are produced, personalised and mailed to new members by Friday.
